A little bit about us...
We are a local community choir whose members are enthusiastic individuals who enjoy singing and raising money for charities.
Formed in September 2013, the choir has around 60 members of all abilities. No previous experience is necessary and there are no auditions, just enthusiasm to join in.
We like to think of ourselves as a very friendly group with a wide range of backgrounds and ages and currently, we perform two or three concerts a year.

We recently took to the stage not once, but twice.....
Article from the Lisvane Link
On a very humid Saturday afternoon in June we entertained families and friends at the annual Lisvane Fete, part of the two-week Lisvane Festival, on Heol Y Delyn field, where we sang a few songs as a taster for our annual concert the following Wednesday, June 25.
Mr Blue Sky seemed a very apt song to start, whereas Singin in the Rain was perhaps more of a hope, after the sweltering heat of the week!
Mentioning heat, thankfully Lisvane Memorial Hall - only just a few days later - was a little more comfortable than it was for last year’s concert.
An Australian lullaby, ‘Inanay’ was sung to open the concert, and was followed by Pastime with Good Company - a song that may, or may not, have been written by Henry VIII!
The choir was joined by two soloists, Sam Dowd (a pupil at The John Frost School, Newport) and Laura Hayward (who will be part of The Great British Bake Off Musical in Newbridge Memo on September 5 and 6) who entertained the audience with songs from the shows.
A couple of Scottish folk songs were followed by the rousing O, Gymru - Wales, you are the only land for me - ending the first half of the concert.
The choir has chosen the Forget Me Not Chorus and Grow Cardiff as their charities for 2025, both of which have had an impact on choir members. Donations were collected during the interval, and there will be other opportunities to give to these great local causes at the Christmas concerts - watch out for dates!
Three Sea Shanties, arranged by Musical Director Tom Lazell during lockdown, were followed by The Long Day Closes by Arthur Sullivan and the Anthem from Chess.
Soloists entertained the audience again, before the choir’s last three numbers - Mr Blue Sky, American folk songs and perhaps the highlight of the evening, a medley from the Sound of Music, celebrating 60 years since the infamous 1965 film.
The evening ended in rapturous applause with so many friends and family saying they had enjoyed a wonderful evening and that they were already looking forward to hearing the choir sing again at Christmas.
